AI ad review checklist: what to check before you post
What to check in every AI-generated image ad before it goes live: the product, the words, the price, claims, the logo, people and the format.
By the CamelShot teamPublished 6 min read

The short answer
Before you post any AI-generated image ad, check seven things: the product matches in shape, colour and label; every word is spelled correctly; the price matches the product page; there are no discounts, ratings or claims you did not provide; the logo is intact; an AI persona is not presented as a real customer; and the text stays clear of the placement edges. If an item fails, refine the design instead of posting it.
Key takeaways
- AI can change small details even from a good photo, so a human review is always the last step.
- Read every word aloud, especially the product name, joined Arabic letters and numbers.
- Meta prohibits deceptive pricing and unauthorised endorsements, so remove any discount or praise you cannot back up.
- An AI persona presents the product; they are not a real customer or a testimonial.
- Each refinement is a new image for 1 credit, and earlier versions stay saved for comparison.
Why AI image ads need a human review
Image models are strong at composition and light, but they can slip on small details: a letter on a label, the shape of a cap, an Arabic word with broken joins. In CamelShot your product photo is the primary reference for the design, and the designs are instructed not to add discounts, ratings, testimonials or results. Even so, you are the one publishing the ad and you are responsible for what it says.
Run this checklist on every design before you download it. Open the image at full size, then look at it on a phone screen, because that is where most people will see it.
The product: shape, colour, label and count
Put the reference photo next to the design and compare:
- Shape and proportions match, with no stretching or odd curves.
- Colour matches, especially for fabrics, liquids and cosmetics.
- The label and the logo printed on the packaging are unchanged, with no invented lettering.
- The number of pieces matches the photo, with no duplicates or extras such as a gift box.
- Caps, edges, buttons and small details are intact.
If the product itself has changed, do not try to fix it in an editor: choose a refinement or a different layout, or start from a clearer reference photo.
The words: spelling, Arabic joins, name and price
A typo in a large headline is more visible than any other flaw. Read every word in the image aloud:
- The product and brand names are written as they are in your store.
- Arabic letters are joined, and words run in the right order from right to left.
- Numbers are not mirrored, and the price and currency match the product page.
- The call to action fits the landing page (do not say "book" if the button says "buy").
- No word or line is repeated.
- The text is readable on a phone, with enough contrast against the background.
The claims: discounts, ratings, endorsements and results
Meta's advertising standards prohibit deceptive commercial practices, including deceptive pricing and unauthorised endorsements. Even when an ad is approved, a false claim damages trust and drives returns.
- No discount, coupon or "was" price that does not actually exist.
- No star ratings, review counts or customer testimonials.
- No organisation logos or certifications you have not earned.
- No results, before-and-after comparisons or health promises.
- No urgency such as "last piece" or "ends today" unless it is true.
- No delivery promises or free gifts that do not exist.
CamelShot's offer pack shows your listed price as it is; it does not imply a discount.
The logo and brand
When you add your brand, your original logo file is placed on the design after generation instead of being redrawn by the AI, so its lettering does not change. Still check:
- The logo is visible, with clear contrast against what is behind it.
- There is no second, invented logo elsewhere in the design.
- The design colours sit close to your brand colours without recolouring the product itself.
- The tone of the copy fits your brand voice in the language you chose.
People in the ad
You can choose an adult AI persona, from an approved portrait, to appear with the product. Their presence in the ad is not a testimonial or evidence of a result.
- The persona matches the approved portrait, and the hijab or outfit is preserved.
- Hands and fingers look natural and do not hide the product.
- The copy does not suggest they are a customer who tried the product.
- There are no extra people you did not ask for.
The format and safe zones
For 9:16 ads, Meta advises keeping the top, bottom and side edges free of text and logos; for 1:1 or 4:5 feed ads, keep the bottom and side edges clear. On Snapchat, the brand name (up to 32 characters) and headline (up to 34 characters) are added as separate fields, so there is no need to repeat them inside the image.
- The format matches the placement you will post in.
- No text, price or logo sits close to an edge.
- You checked the preview for each placement in the ads tool, including automatic crops.
If an item fails: fix it or regenerate
| Problem | What to do in CamelShot |
|---|---|
| Close but not polished | Polish this design |
| Too much or crowded text | Less text |
| Looks cheap or loud | More premium |
| Product too small or lost | Make the product stand out |
| Layout does not work | Try a different layout |
| Wrong size for the placement | A version in another format |
| A wrong claim or fact | Fix the product description, then design again |
Each refinement or format change is a new image for 1 credit, and earlier versions stay saved so you can compare. If an image fails to generate, its credit is returned.
Frequently asked questions
- Do I need to review every design in a pack?
- Yes. Each of the four designs is generated separately, so one can be perfect while another has a wrong word or detail.
- Does CamelShot add discounts or ratings on its own?
- The designs are instructed not to, and the offer pack only uses your listed price. If you write a claim in the product description it may appear, so review the description before designing.
- What should I do if an Arabic word is misspelled?
- Choose "polish this design" or "less text" to generate a new version. Do not post an ad with a typo in the headline.
- Is my logo redrawn?
- No. Your original logo file is placed on the design after generation, so its lettering and colours stay as they are. Just check its position and contrast.
- Should I say the ad was made with AI?
- Check the policies of the platform you advertise on and the rules in your country, as requirements differ by ad type. Either way, never present an AI persona as a real customer.
