How to make Instagram image ads from a product in your Salla store

How to prepare Instagram image ads for a product in your Salla store: check the product data, pick the right size for each placement, then review.

The short answer

Paste the public product page link from your Salla store into CamelShot and check the name, price and photo we pull. Pick 9:16 for Stories and Reels, 1:1 for paid feed ads because it is the ratio Meta recommends there, or 3:4 for regular posts. You get four designs in Arabic or English at one credit per image. Download them, upload them to Instagram or Ads Manager yourself, and check the preview for each placement.

Key takeaways

  • We read your public Salla product page; we do not connect to your store account or sync prices or stock.
  • Make the main product image in Salla a clear photo of the whole product, because it is usually what we pull first.
  • Stories and Reels are 9:16 (1080x1920), paid feed ads 1:1, and regular feed posts up to 3:4.
  • Keep text away from the edges so the interface does not cover it.
  • CamelShot does not post for you: you upload the ad and choose the audience and budget.

Start with one product and one goal

Pick one product you want to advertise now, make sure it is in stock, and check that its page works well on a phone. If the goal is a purchase, the ad and the landing page must talk about the same product at the same price, so visitors never find something different from what the ad promised.

Start with one product rather than a campaign for the whole store. That way you know which design led to visits and orders, and you can carry what you learned to the next product.

Get the Salla product page ready before importing

What we pull from Salla comes from the product page itself, so tidy it first. According to the Salla Help Center:

  • You can add up to 10 images per product.
  • Supported formats are png, jpeg, jpg and gif, with a maximum of 5 MB per image file.
  • You can set the main product image with the main image option under the product photos.

Make the main image a clear photo of the whole product on a plain background, without text or stickers over it. Check that the name, price and currency on the page are right, because the ad copy is written from them.

Paste the product page link into CamelShot, not your store home page or a category page. When the page allows its data to be read, we pull the name, description, photos and price. If the page is protected or the data is incomplete, add the details and photo by hand.

Before you design, check three things:

  1. The reference photo shows the version and colour you are advertising.
  2. The name is written the way you want it to appear in the ad.
  3. The price and currency are still correct.

Because this reads a public page, if you change the price in Salla later, update the product in CamelShot before you design a new pack.

Which size for each Instagram placement?

Placement Ratio Pixels Note
Instagram Stories 9:16 1080x1920 The resolution Meta recommends for Stories ads
Instagram Reels 9:16 1080x1920 Full-screen vertical
Feed ad 1:1 1080x1080 Meta recommends 1:1 for single-image Instagram Feed ads; 4:5 is also supported
Regular feed post 3:4 1080x1440 Instagram keeps photos between 1.91:1 and 3:4 at 1080 wide

In CamelShot, choose story 9:16, square 1:1 or portrait 3:4. Note that Meta's list of supported ratios for Instagram Feed ads includes 1:1 and 4:5 but not 3:4, so use square for paid feed ads and keep 3:4 for regular posts.

Keep text away from the edges

For 9:16 ads, Meta advises keeping the top, bottom and side edges free of text, logos and key elements, because the profile icon and call-to-action button can cover them. For Instagram Feed ads at 1:1 or 4:5, keep the bottom and side edges clear.

CamelShot designs leave margins around the copy and the product, with wider margins at the top and bottom of stories. Still, open the preview for each placement in Ads Manager before you publish: each placement has a different interface, and Meta may zoom the creative on screens taller than 9:16.

Check the message in the image and in the caption

The ad carries a short headline and a call to action, and the Instagram caption covers what the image does not. Do not repeat the same sentence in both, and put the details and terms of any real offer in the caption or the campaign settings.

  • The product name is spelled correctly inside the image.
  • The logo and price match your store.
  • There is no urgency language or discount that does not exist.

If you add an AI persona who appears with the product, treat them as a presenter, not a real customer, and do not attribute an experience or result to them.

Upload the ad and test one change

Designing images in CamelShot does not start a campaign. Download the images, add them to a post or to an ad in Ads Manager, and set the Salla product link, audience and budget there.

Compare two clearly different designs while keeping the product, price and landing page the same, and watch visits to the product page and actual orders in your Salla dashboard. Do not treat a handful of visits as a final verdict on a design. If you need the winning design in another size, request a new version in that format for 1 credit; the original stays saved.

Frequently asked questions

Does CamelShot connect to my Salla store?
No. We read the public product page when you paste its link, without connecting to your account or syncing prices or stock.
What is the best size for an Instagram ad?
For Stories and Reels, 9:16 at 1080x1920. For single-image ads in the feed, Meta recommends 1:1; regular feed posts can go up to 3:4.
Can I write the ad in Arabic?
Yes. You choose Arabic or English for each campaign, and the headline and call to action are written in that language.
What if the price on my Salla page is wrong?
Fix it in Salla first, then update the product in CamelShot or edit the price by hand before you design, because the offer pack shows the price exactly as listed.
Does CamelShot post the ad to Instagram?
No. You download the images and upload them to Instagram or Meta Ads Manager yourself.
