How to turn a product photo into ready-to-post image ads

A step-by-step guide to turning one product photo into four finished image ads: the photo, the facts, the pack and format, and what to check.

The short answer

Start with one clear photo of the product you sell, its name and price, and two or three facts you can confirm. In CamelShot, paste the product link from your store or add it by hand, then pick a pack (launch, benefits or offer), a format (3:4, 1:1 or 9:16) and a language. The AI writes the copy and designs four finished ads, one credit per image. Check every word and detail before you post.

Key takeaways

  • The photo you pick becomes the reference for the product in all four designs, so choose one that shows the whole product clearly.
  • The copy is written from your product name, description and price, so put only confirmed facts in them.
  • Pick the pack by message: launch introduces, benefits explains one real advantage, offer invites a purchase at the listed price.
  • Pick the format by placement: 3:4 or 1:1 for feed posts, 9:16 for stories.
  • Each image costs 1 credit; refinements and new formats create new images and keep the earlier versions.

What you need before you start

You need four things, and most of them are already on your product page:

  • A product photo you have the right to use in ads, with the whole product in frame.
  • The product name exactly as your store writes it, because it may appear inside the ad.
  • The price and currency, if you want the price shown, exactly as listed.
  • Confirmed facts: size, material or how it is used. Not general promises.

Each store platform publishes its own guidance for product images, which is a good starting point for a photo that works in ads too:

Platform What its help centre says about product images
Salla Up to 10 images per product, png, jpeg, jpg or gif, up to 5 MB per file
Zid 1000x1000 dimensions, png, jpg, jpeg or gif, up to 5 MB
Shopify Any size up to 5000x5000 px; square images at 2048x2048 px usually display best

Step 1: Choose the photo that anchors every design

The photo you choose is the reference for how the product looks in all four designs. Pick one that shows the shape, colour and label clearly, not one full of effects or props. Even light and a plain background make the details easier to keep.

  • If the product comes in several versions, use a photo of the one you are advertising.
  • Do not pair an old packaging photo with a description of new packaging.
  • If the photo shows several pieces, the design shows the product as photographed, so pick a photo that matches what the customer receives.
  • Avoid photos with text, stickers or watermarks added over the product.

Step 2: Import the product from your store or add it by hand

Paste the public product page link from Salla, Zid or Shopify. When the page allows its data to be read, we pull the name, description, photos and price, and you choose the reference photo yourself. If the page is protected or the data is incomplete, add the product and its photo by hand.

This reads a public page. It is not a connection to your store account and it does not sync stock or prices. The product is saved to your product library so you can make new packs later without pasting the link again. When the packaging or price changes, update the product before you design a new pack; earlier campaigns keep the version they were made from.

Step 3: Write facts, not promises

The AI writes the headline, supporting line and call to action from your product name, description and price. If the description contains something inaccurate, it can end up in the ad in large type.

  • Write what can be checked: "50 ml", "100% cotton", "30 uses per pack".
  • Do not write "best seller", "lasts two days" or "50% off" unless it is true and you can show it.
  • A photo on its own does not prove ingredients, origin or performance.

The designs are instructed not to add discounts, ratings, testimonials or results you did not provide. If the description has no clear benefit, the design focuses on how the product looks instead of inventing advantages.

Step 4: Pick the pack, format, style and language

Every pack gives you four designs with different layouts for the same product:

Pack When to pick it What the ad shows
Product launch Introducing a product The product up front with a short headline
Product benefits Explaining an advantage your description states One real benefit, written plainly
Product offer A direct invitation to buy Your listed price as it is, with no added discount

Then pick the format: portrait 3:4 (1080x1440), square 1:1 (1080x1080) or story 9:16 (1080x1920). Each ad is designed in that format from the start rather than cropped later.

Choose the copy language, Arabic or English. You can also pick a design style (clean minimal, premium editorial, bold color or warm lifestyle) and a typography direction, or let the AI choose. Optional extras: your brand (logo, colours and voice), an AI persona who appears with the product, and a short note to steer the mood.

Step 5: Review each design, then refine or download

Open every design at full size and compare it with the original photo before you use it:

  1. The product matches in shape, colour, label and number of pieces.
  2. Every word is spelled correctly, especially the product name and joined Arabic letters.
  3. The price and currency match the product page, if shown.
  4. The logo is in place and undistorted.
  5. There are no claims, discounts or ratings you did not provide.

If a design is close, choose a refinement: polish this design, less text, more premium, make the product stand out, or try a different layout. Each refinement or format change creates a new image for 1 credit, and the previous version stays saved for comparison. Then download the images and post them yourself; CamelShot does not publish anything on your behalf. When you upload the ad, Meta recommends reviewing the automatic crops for each placement before publishing.

What it costs to try

Credits are the only unit: each image ad costs 1 credit, and a pack of four designs costs 4 credits. New accounts get 1 free credit at sign-up; a full pack needs 4, so you add the rest from a plan or a credit pack. If an image fails to generate, its credit is returned.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need a professional product photo?
No. The photo needs to be clear, with the whole product in frame and even light. Photos crowded with effects or props make it harder to keep the product details intact.
Can I use my supplier's photo?
Only if you have the right to use it in ads. Check your agreement with the supplier before you publish.
What if my product link does not import?
Add the product by hand: name, description, price and photo. Some pages are protected or do not expose their data in a readable way.
Will the AI add discounts or reviews on its own?
The designs are instructed not to add discounts, ratings, testimonials or results you did not provide, and the offer pack only uses your listed price. Still, read every design before you post it.
Can I get the same design in another size?
Yes. Request a version in the new format; it creates a new image for 1 credit and the original stays saved.
